It’s officially summertime in Dublin! That means outdoor concerts on the grounds of an 800-year-old castle, Pride Month festivities, and city-wide celebrations of Ireland’s most famous author – plus plenty more events, from community festivals to mass whiskey tastings.
With longer days and more sunshine, it’s also the perfect time to explore beyond the city. Cool off in Howth’s icy turquoise waters, marvel at Malahide Castle, or venture further afield to Glendalough, a fairytale valley nestled in the Wicklow Mountains. Trust us, you won’t regret it.
Here’s our pick of the best things to do in Dublin this month ☀️
📚CULTURAL SPOTLIGHT: Bloomsday
This June 16th, don’t be surprised if you spot locals dressed in boater hats and tweed waistcoats – you haven’t woken up in a different century... It’s just Bloomsday!
Every year, Dublin comes together to celebrate Ireland’s most iconic author (and most resented by literature students worldwide), James Joyce, by recreating the events of his 1922 masterpiece, Ulysses.
Named after the novel’s principal protagonist, Leopold Bloom, Bloomsday Festival is a fantastic opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Joyce and discover some of the city’s hidden corners and landmarks.
