Discover a classic English location here in Eastbourne. Compton Place is our traditional British school with 23 classrooms, a dining hall, large gardens, and tennis courts.

You can walk to Eastbourne centre in 15 minutes. The town's history started in the Roman times, and today, it has a relaxing, seaside lifestyle for you to enjoy. It's a great place for students who want a peaceful experience, different from busy London or Dublin. Here, you can enjoy interesting lessons, beautiful views, cultural experiences, and outdoor activities.

If you don’t want to book our airport transfer taxi service you can get to us by train:

  • Heathrow: You can take the Piccadilly Underground Line to South Kensington, and then change to take the District or Circle Underground Line to Victoria Station (about 60 minutes). Take a mainline train from Victoria Station to Eastbourne (about 90 minutes).
  • Gatwick: You can take a mainline train directly to Eastbourne from Gatwick train station (about 55 minutes).
  • Luton: From Luton Airport take a mainline train to Luton Airport Parkway. At Luton Airport Parkway, you should take a train to East Croydon. Change at East Croydon to Eastbourne (about 2 hours 40 minutes).
  • Stansted: From Stansted airport you can take a mainline train to London Liverpool Street (about 45 minutes). Then take a Central Underground Train to Oxford Street, change here to the Victoria Line and take an Underground Train to London Victoria (about 25 minutes). At Victoria Station you can take a mainline train to Eastbourne (about 90 minutes).

At our English Centre in Eastbourne, we are offering students a unique opportunity to study the English language in a traditional British school on its own private, historic estate. As well as its bright, comfortable classrooms the school also provides students with a library and study centre, computer room, large dining hall, piano and indoor table tennis.

Students can also buy hot and cold drinks as well as snacks from the vending machines, and enjoy the 10-hectare garden with football pitches and tennis/basketball/badminton courts. Then share their experience with their friends using the free Wi-Fi available.

Our Students

In 2022, people from 54 different countries came to study and learn with us. We help adult students, students aged 16+, and students aged 10+ (in closed groups) improve their English and study a new culture.

Our safeuarding standards include the following;

  • A 15:1 student-to-staff ratio during lessons
  • A 24-hour emergency contact number
  • A safeguarding Lead on duty in each Centre at all times
  • Police checks carried out on all staff

For students under 18, we ensure that;

  • A high level of support is provided, including a separate induction and weekly welfare tutorials
  • Parents/guardians are informed of lateness or unauthorised absence from class

    Please note that if you are aged 16/17 and enrol on one of our courses, you will join a class of adult students. Students aged 16/17 are not normally supervised outside of class time and will be responsible for their own safety, although Twin will provide guidelines.

Eastbourne Pier, a Victorian-era attraction on the coast, has amusements and lovely cafes with panoramic views of the sea. It's just a 25-minute walk from our school.

Beachy Head

Beachy Head, near Eastbourne, is a stunning chalk cliff. It stands tall above the area and provides incredible views of the English Channel. It’s also a popular hiking spot.

Towner Gallery

Towner Gallery is an artistic paradise. It features a diverse collection of contemporary art and interesting learning programs. It is located a short 15-minute walk from the Eastbourne English Centre.

Sovereign Harbour

Sovereign Harbour is a beautiful waterfront area with peaceful marinas, delicious dining, and relaxing walkways. It’s a unique and exciting coastal community where you can enjoy the sea view.

There are many beautiful cities and towns on the south coast of England. Day trips to classic holiday destinations like Portsmouth, Brighton, and Hastings are easy, with great transport links. These trips allow you to see history and explore natural locations.


Portsmouth offers a fascinating history, with its dockyard and the amazing Spinnaker Tower. There is waterfront dining and cultural attractions to discover – you can reach Portsmouth in less than 3 hours by train from Eastbourne Train Station.


Many people say Brighton is ‘London by the sea.’ It is easy to access, with 1 train and a journey time of 1 hour. Brighton has an artistic atmosphere, great music, a stunning beachfront, exciting nightlife, and the unique Royal Pavilion.
