Learn English by the sea in a historic British manor
Our English Centre in Eastbourne is a unique place to study. It is set in Compton Place — a Grade I listed 18th-century manor house with royal connections. Built in 1726 for Sir Spencer Compton, Earl of Wilmington, and later home to the Duke of Devonshire, the house has welcomed Kings, Queens and Prime Ministers over many years.
Today, this traditional British estate offers an excellent setting for learning. The school is surrounded by 10 acres of private grounds, with beautiful gardens, a barbecue area, a multipurpose sports court and tennis courts. Students can enjoy both the history of the building and a range of modern facilities. The estate is only a short walk from Eastbourne town centre and the sea, making it easy to explore the area between lessons.
We offer a full programme of classes, activities and excursions, so students can improve their English, discover the UK and make new friends in a welcoming environment.
