This module highlights the essential role of advertising and marketing in commercial success, providing you with a fundamental understanding of media analysis theories and concepts. It enhances your research and analysis skills through examining advertising production and exploring the audience-campaign relationship.

This module aims to enhance your understanding of newspapers and magazines through the analysis of news stories or features in print and digital media formats. Meanwhile, the module provides opportunities to apply your knowledge to address complex sustainability challenges (wicked problems) within the fields of media, aligning with the United Nations’ Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) goals. By integrating sustainability, you will learn to consider how the media can address real-world problems.

This module offers you a comprehensive opportunity to develop filmmaking techniques and explore fundamental film principles. You will gain skills in all aspects of filmmaking, from idea development to final production, including camera techniques, lighting, and digital post-production.

This module provides you with thorough training in the language and related academic skills which will enable you to achieve your academic potential at university. You will develop awareness and competency in a range of language-related skills required for successful university study, including academic writing, effective reading strategies, how to participate in seminars and deliver presentations, and listening to and recording information effectively from lectures. You will learn how to communicate accurately in written and spoken English with clarity and confidence.
